B&M Lends a Hand in Construction of Seva’s Community Teaching Kitchen

B&M’s Co-President and CEO Bruce McDonald and Regional Vice President Scott Harris were honoured to attend Seva Food Bank’s Grand Kitchen Reveal in Mississauga on March 1. The event celebrated the completion of Seva’s new Community Teaching Kitchen, a space dedicated to combatting food insecurity and hunger through community support and knowledge sharing.

B&M became aware of the project and opportunity to contribute through our partnership with Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). The B&M team, led by Senior Operations Manager Tim Bullock and Project Manager Chris Pereira, chipped in to provide the mechanical and electrical scopes for the kitchen fume hood exhaust and air intake. The team was proud to lend their expertise to the construction efforts in support of the kitchen’s valuable programming, which gives food insecure individuals and families the skills to take charge of their own nutrition and well-being in a communal setting.

With two locations in Mississauga, Seva Food Bank has been providing safe, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food to clients in the community since 2010. B&M is grateful to Seva Food Bank and our friends at GTAA for giving us the opportunity to help build a more caring community.
