B&M Internship Series: Carlos Ramirez

This post features intern Carlos Ramirez, a graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program at Seneca College. Carlos is spending the summer working with Mike Minelli and the B&M Substations department out of Pullman Court in Scarborough, Ontario.

The highlight of Carlos's internship so far has been assisting with the design of cable trays to house high voltage and control cables at the Oshawa PUC MS9 Substation. Having the opportunity to assist with the design allowed Carlos to appreciate all the different steps in the construction process, starting with design drawings, and moving through to the actual construction and complete evaluation of the final product. Carlos also found it rewarding to create professional drawings of his design, and coordinate the acquisition of all materials with the help of his mentor.
