In April 2000, B&M's Atlantic Region operation further solidified
its reputation as a quality and diversified contracting resource
with the acquisition of Land & Sea Instrumentation Ltd., a
well-established company focused on supplying a complete instrumentation
service. This ranges from on-site instrumentation contracting,
to the provision of portable calibration labs built for specific
site requirements.
Incorporated in 1993 to initially serve the industrial sector, Land & Sea has developed into one of the region's premier instrumentation service providers with ISO accreditation for both land based and offshore industries.
Based in a new facility built in Woodside Industrial Park,
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, their range of service expertise includes
calibration installation programming and commissioning, and
a certified test and measuring equipment rental service. The
facility is engineered with temperature/humidity-controlled
labs with very high accuracy standards to carry out the calibration
and certification of mechanical and electronic test and measurement
equipment. Land & Sea currently services more than 700 customers
throughout Atlantic Canada.
Land & Sea prides itself on supplying quick on-site response
and our parent companies' turnaround demanded by their equally
demanding customers, which include Hibernia Gravity Based
Offshore Production Facility, Sable Offshore Energy Project,
Goldboro Gas Plant, and Point Tupper Fractionation Plant.
Land & Sea has ventured from MIL Shipyard in Quebec City to
Pasagoula, Mississippi, carrying out instrumentation services
on offshore drilling and production platforms.
The Land & Sea staff currently includes 15 hourly and salaried employees.
